Qiaohao Liang
Vice President of Program Management
Harry is currently a PhD student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. At MIT Photovoltaics Lab (ME) and SLI Group (CSAIL), he develops tools to accelerate energy materials R&D processes; more specifically, building suitable robotic, machine learning, and data management tools for labs to speed up their experiments and become ‘smarter’ with analysis. Having grown up in both Finland and China, he obtained his undergraduate degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley. At MIT CEO, Harry is excited to learn about your amazing ideas and here to help you deliver them effectively to your selected audience with a twist. Outside of work, Harry is a bold stand-up comedian, traveler, and part-time basketball referee.
Zhuo Li
Vice President of Career Development
Zhuo graduated from Northeastern University, majoring in Digital Media. She has shifted her career from sports business to the marketing field. Zhuo has been exploring and developing experience in multiple marketing fields, such as growth hacking, events, digital marketing, multimedia design, and UX design.

Ji Zhao
2019-2020 Co-president
Ji Zhao is a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. He got his bachelor's degree in engineering at Tsinghua University and Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also has two years of postdoctoral research experience with Prof Allen Bard at UT Austin. His research is about electrochemical energy materials and devices, particularly non-lithium batteries and ultra-thin silicon solar cells. He is also a mature soccer player and salsa dancer.
Qinmin Zheng
Qinmin is a postdoc at MIT senseable city lab. His research interests include the innovative (nano)material development for water purification and sensor development for real-time environmental sensing. He is also interested in entrepreneurship which can bring innovative lab research to address environmental challenges in the real world.
Ching-Yun Ko
Ching-Yun Ko is a Ph.D. student at MIT EECS interested in robustness and fairness analysis, machine learning, and broadening the use of technology in human-centered engineering. Prior to joining MIT, she has been with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong for her M.Phil. title. Previously, she obtained her B.Sc. degree from the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Wuhan University.
Kun Cheng
Kun Cheng holds a master of city planning degree from DUSP, MIT. Before coming to MIT, he received his master's degree in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, and his bachelor's degree in architecture from Tsinghua University. During school, he worked as an intern in Architectural Design & Research Institute of Tsinghua, China Architecture Design & Research Group, Broad Homes Industry Group, SOM Chicago, and was the Committee Member of the Solar Decathlon China 2018 Committee. He is interested in architecture, city planning, real estate development, and technology.
Mindy Lin
Mindy is currently a student in the Master of Business Analytics program at MIT. Prior to that, she graduated from University of Waterloo in Canada with a degree in Statistics and Actuarial Science. She has previously completed several internships in actuarial, consulting, and finance. During her spare time, she enjoys playing boardgames, travelling, and doing yoga.
Qianhui Liang
Qianhui Liang received her MS in School of Architecture and Planning at MIT. She got her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Tongji University. She is interested in big data analysis and visualization, urban computation, and how big data analytics and digital interactive design can inform and transform physical and spatial urban system, and human behavior.
Zhifei Xu
Zhifei Xu (Fei) was born in Shanghai, China. He is current an M.Arch student at MIT. He received his bachelor's degree in UC Berkeley, where he received Eisner Prize for the highest achievement in architecture, and Circus Award for selected as best student project. Zhifei has a background as an architectural designer and has his research focus on integrating future technologies into the design process.

Audrey is an undergraduate at MIT double majoring in Computer Science and Economics. She currently leads the MIT sourcing team for Harvard Undergraduate Capital Partners, where she connects startups with top VCs and angel investors, including Sequoia and Lux Capital. She is also a former intern at Y Combinator China (now renamed as MiraclePlus). In her spare time, she enjoys reading, meeting new people, and playing golf.
Candice is a Master of Finance student at MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to MIT, she obtained her bachelor’s degree at Emory university majored in quantitative science and economics with a minor in music. She has various internship experience in the primary market. She currently works at BAI (Bertelsmann Asia Investments) as an investment analyst intern and she formerly interned at CDH investments. She will join Goldman Sachs as an investment banking summer analyst. She has participated in various deals and transactions in TMT, healthcare and education sectors. Lenna Yang is a Master of Finance student at MIT Sloan, concentrating on Financial Engineering. Prior to MIT, she obtained her bachelor degree at Chinese University of Hong Kong with the same concentration and a minor in mathematics. Haozhe Wang is currently a postdoctoral associate in the Department of AeroAstro at MIT. He got his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT in 2020. Before that, he received his Bachelor’s & Master’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Materials Science. His research is about developing cutting-edge computing and sensing schemes using nanoscale electronic materials such as graphene and carbon nanotubes. Outside work, he is a fan of classical music.

Jingyun Ma is a graduate student pursuing a master of architecture at MIT. She completed a five-year professional training in architecture and received her bachelor’s degree in architecture at Harbin Institute of Technology. At MIT, she has been exploring and developing experience in multiple design fields, such as animation, game design, and UI/UX design. In her spare time, Jingyun is a writer, editor and teacher. Jingyi Liu is a Master's Student at the MIT Department of Building Technology. She works as a research assistant at the Materials Systems Lab (MSL). Her research integrates cutting-edge technologies in the field of building design. Technologies such as machine learning, optimization, and big data visualization are used to minimize building lifecycle cost and carbon footprint, providing designers with economically and environmentally friendly design solutions during the early design stage. Prior to MIT, she interned at various places, including an architecture design firm, a real estate firm, and the EY digital transformation group. Fen Pei joined Silicon Therapeutics as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2020. She obtained her PhD from the joint Carnegie Mellon (CMU)-University of Pittsburgh PhD program in Computational Biology. During her PhD, she focused on the development and applications of quantitative systems pharmacology methods in drug discovery. Her work includes applying machine learning methods in predicting drug-target interactions, protein-protein interactions and performing pathway analysis, aiming to gain a better understanding of complex diseases mechanisms and develop novel therapeutic strategies. Before her PhD, she obtained a bachelor of science degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Peking University, and a master of science degree in medicinal chemistry from the same institute. She is actively involved in the community of new venture and entrepreneurship, especially the innovations in AI + drug discovery.
Junyao Zhang
Junyao is a senior student majoring in Economics and mathematics. She is interested in finance, public policy and education areas. She accumulated many experiences related to these industries. She is dedicating her effort on combining finance and education to tackle large-scale problems. She has lots of passion about impact investing and consulting. Currently she works as a project intern in Deloitte. She is applying for graduate school. She runs International Career Management (ICM), the student organization that focuses on fostering students’ comprehensive growth with international perspectives. Charlotte is a senior major in Philosophy and Economics. She runs Arc Capital, a hedge fund specialized in statistical arbitrage and global macro research. Currently she participates in pre-ipo/personal angel investment in the consumer & energy industry. She formerly interned at 36kr and Hillhouse Capital Management. She enjoys reading, making stuff and hanging out with friends in her spare time.
Hunter is co-founder and CEO at KaleidoGlobe, creator of a cloud-based knowledge management platform that uses NLP and AI to facilitate analysis of large volumes of text-based information. In the past, Hunter has worked as business strategy consultant, engineering design course instructor, and aerospace systems engineer. Hunter holds a MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT and BS in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from Caltech. In his spare time, Hunter enjoys writing fiction, reading non-fiction, playing video games, and discussing big ideas.
Qianran He
Qianran is working as the senior engineer in Nanoramic Laboratories for energy storage R&D. Her expertise is on high energy density electrode material for lithium-ion batteries. Qianran got her PhD degree from Illinois Institute of Technology, where she is also the awardee of Tang Fellowship. Qianran also served as the board director of American PhD Alliance, and actively organizing events in EV/LIB academic and industrial communities.
Xin Yang
Xin Yang obtained PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland. She moved to Boston in 2015, and worked as Sr. product managers in several companies including Olympus Corporation, Thermo Fisher Scientific and eClinicalWorks. She also obtained MBA degree from Boston University, with concentration on health sector management. Xin is passionate about innovation in healthcare, aims to make the world a better place via advancing healthcare technologies. She also works as business consultants for several healthcare start ups. In her spare time, she loves skiing, traveling and meeting like-minded people. She has been to 38 countries in the world.

Stella currently is an undergraduate student at Babson College. She is exploring in the business world with interests in Operation and Supply Chain Management. Shipei holds a MS in Operations Research from Columbia University. With diverse working experiences in corporate finance and high tech analytics, she is currently focusing on the advanced data analytics uses across Retail, Saas and Fintech. She is also interested in pursuing startup opportunities in the near future. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, reading non-fictions and doing standup comedy.
Lance obtained a Master of Science in Product Design and Development from Northwestern University. He's also an alum of ArtCenter College of Design. He worked on creating the 2022 Fisker Ocean(the world's most sustainable vehicle). Other design experiences like product, mobility, behavior and user experience. He believes design should bond the relationship between technological progress and humankind.
Ivana Shui obtained a Master of Medical Science degree in immunology from Harvard Medical School. Ivana currently work as a research associate at MGH Cancer Center focusing on cancer immunology and immunotherapy. She is also the co-founder and CEO at Salvos Therapeutics, a T cell based immunotherapy spin out incubated from Harvard Activate Incubator Program and HBS Arthur Rock Center Accelerator. She is passionate about the next-generation cancer immunotherapy in bringing more promising approaches for a broader patients population.
Yawen is a current MBA student at Harvard Business School. She has interned with top Chinese investment firms such as FOSUN Investment Group and Capital Today Group as MBA associate. Prior to HBS, Yawen worked in the global trading business at British Petroleum. She has plenty of experience across commodity investment, business development and corporate strategic management. Originally from Wuhan, China, Yawen attended Nanjing University, majoring in International Economics and Trade. Zhuoran Han received his MS in Nuclear Engineering in the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering focusing on computational reactor physics and High Performance Computing. He received his dual Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan. Zhuoran is a huge fan of rock climbing and bouldering.

Joy is a cinematic artist and tech entrepreneur. She holds a BFA at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and MFA at USC School of Cinematic Arts both focusing on writing and directing. She also obtained the Culture, Arts and Media Scholarship with Admission Bursary to complete the University of Cambridge’s MBA program, focusing on tech entrepreneurship and finance. Having worked for cinematic veterans like Renny Harlin (Director for Die Hard 2) for Jackie Chan’s project Skiptrace and Alibaba Pictures, Joy created dozens of short films that advocated for social issues in many international film festivals. She was selected in 2020 Berlinale Talents as a writer/director representing China. Her tech-enabled immersive show with VR, drone and hologram won grants/recognition at Cambridge’s renowned ADC Theatre, CUE’s startup competition, and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Currently, her first maths-inspired experimental feature film is under post production, with 2 science fiction screenplays/novels under development. Meanwhile, she is incubating a digital platform utilizing the blockchain technology to optimize the film and art industry.
Wendi Kan
Wendi is a junior at Babson College, concentrating in Business Analytics and Entrepreneurship. She is passionate about lean startups, venture capital, and user-oriented research. She is taking a gap year in China to avoid Covid and explore future career paths; she interned in Risk Advisory at Deloitte and now doing Investment Analysis with SOSV. Clare is the founding partner and managing partner of Knightway Capital. She is focused on seed and growth-stage investments in the healthcare industry. Her investments include biotech, medical device, and digital healthcare startups in China and the US. With working experiences at Sequoia Capital, Hillhouse Capital, and Global Atlantic, Clare wants to empower entrepreneurs who want to make a social impact. Xiangyu is a recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a master's degree in information system management (data analytics concentration). Previously he studied at the University of Wisconsin Madison with a major in Statistics and minors in computer science, math and business. His educational background renders me in-depth knowledge of big data capture, curation, manipulation and visualization and allows him to be familiar with various data science and software engineering methodologies. Xiangyu Zeng
Zhu Liang currently works as a postdoctoral research associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory. His interest is exploring the application of neural networks on chemical reaction problems, as well as building AI assisted data pipelines for scientific experiments. Zhu obtained his PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago in physics. During his PhD, he focused on the computational, as well as X-ray, study of the mechanism of ion transfer across the aqueous-organic interfaces. As a science lover, Zhu was the editor of Deeptech Magazine in China, covering scientific and technology breakthroughs happening around the world. He is now an active community member and is interested in learning about the chasms and mindsets behind the commercialization of scientific ideas. In his spare time, he is a basketball player and recently became enthusiastic about snowboarding and surfing.

Hang Jiang

Hang Jiang is an M.S./Ph.D. student at MIT Media Lab. He works on machine learning, natural language processing, and computational social science, supervised by Professor Deb Roy. Prior to MIT, he finished his M.S. in Symbolic Systems at Stanford and B.S. in Computer Science and Linguistics at Emory. His research focuses on designing machine learning algorithms for NLP and building socially-aware, interpretable, robust, and fair AI. Vanessa Guo

Vanessa Guo is currently an M&A consultant at EY Parthenon and works on understanding the fundamentals of businesses. She graduated with a Master of Finance degree from MIT and a BA in Statistics and Music from UC Berkeley. Prior to that, she has working experiences in fintech and hedge fund industries, where she co-authored a white paper on equity option pricing and researched on rebalancing strategies of a volatility-controlled index. Outside of work, Vanessa loves music improvisation, exploring nature and watching witty or investigative Netflix shows. She is a Lyric Coloratura Soprano and believes in the power of music.
Zhen Guo

Zhen is currently a Ph.D. student at MIT EECS. He received his B.A with highest honor in physics and minors in English from UC Berkeley in 2018, where he also spent a year as Tier 1 R&D engineer after graduation. During college, he worked with Alex Zettl at Berkeley Nanosciences and Nanoengineering Institute, Xiang Zhang at NSF Nano-scale Science and Engineering Center, and also Yuri Suzuki at Stanford Applied Physics. He was the co-founder and electrical engineer of Sensible Recording and Rendering in Shenzhen, China.
Xiyao Tang

Clare (Xiyao) currently studies at Northeastern University focuses on digital communication and media. With a few years of working experience in social media operation, she gains experience in knowledge of the social media landscape and understands the latest social media trends. In her spare time, Clare (Xiyao) enjoys cooking, reading, illustrating, photographing, and video editing.
Pengyang Xiang

Pengyang is a graduate student in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at Northeastern University, his study and research focus on large-scale energy storage and redox flow batteries. He got his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Iowa with mathematics and computer science minors. Currently, He also works on early-stage investment in the Cleantech and Deeptech sector. In his spare time, he loves motorsports, skiing, and scuba diving.
